Easy MUJI Rice Flour Pancakes | A Quick Japanese Breakfast Recipe
A warm pancake breakfast can make even a busy morning feel special. For this easy recipe, we're using MUJI's Make Your Own Rice Flour Pancake Mix, then adding banana slices and raisins for a playful finishing touch. All you need is one bowl and a skillet.

What Is MUJI?
MUJI (Mujirushi Ryohin, 無印良品) began in Japan in 1980. Known for its simple approach to everyday goods, it sells everything from stationery and household items to clothing and food. If you're visiting Japan, make time to stop by a MUJI store: browse the food shelves for snacks and pantry finds, then explore the little everyday things that make the shop such a fun place to visit. This rice flour pancake mix is one easy find to bring into your breakfast routine.
Ingredients
- 1 package (150 g) MUJI Make Your Own Rice Flour Pancake Mix
- 1 egg
- 120 ml milk
- A little rice oil (or another vegetable oil), for the skillet
- Banana slices, for topping
- Raisins, for topping
How to Make the Pancakes
- Whisk the egg and milk together in a bowl. Add the pancake mix and stir until combined.
- Lightly oil a skillet with rice oil and heat over low to medium heat. Spoon in the batter and cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.
- Top with banana slices and raisins. Serve warm and enjoy!
For a little extra fun, spoon two small circles beside each pancake before flipping to make bear ears. A banana slice and three raisins make an easy face.
