Mizutani Bee Garden was started in 1912 by Matsujiro Matsujiro, the founder, with three boxes of honeybees.

Honey is a precious natural product that bees have been collecting with all their might, so it is recommended to consume it as it is. The manufacturing process has been modernized, but the spirit of offering a more natural product remains. Occasionally, customers ask me, "Do you have non-crystallizing honey?" There are ways to make honey that don't crystallize, but they also remove important nutrients.

Einstein once said, ``If there were no bees left on the earth, humans would not be able to live more than four years.'' Without honeybees, plants would not be able to pollinate plants and would become extinct. The Mizutani Bee Garden Beekeeping Department is also making efforts to secure honey sources by having farmers sow lotus seeds in their fallow land.

History of Mizutani Bee Garden

Early bird nest The founder, Matsujiro Mizutani, received only three boxes of Western honeybees from Gifu, where beekeeping was thriving at the time. Matsujiro was moved by the deliciousness of the honey collected by bees, and decided to start a business after seeing his family and neighbors happy. In the first year of the Taisho era, we introduced the “transport beekeeping” method of traveling around the country with honeybees during the flowering season, and started a full-scale beekeeping business.	Hokkaido Tokachi Plain honey field Land-shifting beekeeping was an epoch-making method at the time, allowing only the nectar of specific flowers to be collected. It can be said that it was a pioneer of the beekeeping industry in Japan. The second generation, Seiichi, further improved the technology of this translocated beekeeping and built the foundation of modern beekeeping. In 1928, he officially established the Mizutani Brothers Bee Farm, and through repeated trial and error, established his own beekeeping business. We developed a series of methods, such as a method of transporting honeybees when they moved from north to south according to the flowering season, and techniques to protect the natural taste and nutrients of honey.	Seiichi Mizutani, second generation Seiichi, who was so well versed in the ecology of honeybees that he was called the "god of bees," contributed greatly to the development of the beekeeping industry by working hard to train successors. In 1939, we formed the Japan Beekeeping Federation, and in 1965, we were the first in Japan to successfully use honeybees to pollinate strawberries (grown in plastic greenhouses), and we were awarded the fifth rank.

Honey made with traceability

In 1996, Tomohiko Mizutani, who became the fourth president of the company, turned his attention to the world based on the trust that his predecessors had built up in Mizutani Bee Farm. Since its founding, Mizutani Bee Farm has been particular about "domestic pure honey". We want to deliver delicious honey to as many people as possible—that's why we created honey that incorporates our unique traceability system. In China, where the ecosystem and climate of agricultural products are almost the same as Japan, we have realized Japanese-style beekeeping guidance, improvement of inspection equipment and technology, and establishment of a tracking system. In addition, the president himself visits beekeepers in Europe, South America, Canada, New Zealand, etc., and purchases directly after thorough inspection.
