Wakoen has been making tea in the land of Kagoshima for over 70 years. Kagoshima Horiguchi Seicha x Wakoen is the only company in Japan that has obtained the strictest international food safety standard certification (FSSC2200) in the food industry, from tea leaves to packaging. FSSC22000 is one of the food safety management systems, and is a very strict international standard to which 650 of the world's major distribution and food companies are members, requiring their business partners to be certified.
