Taichiro Morinaga, the founder of Morinaga & Co., Ltd., was the first to manufacture and sell caramel in Japan based on the manufacturing method he learned in the United States.

June 10, 1913, milk caramel goes on sale

"Caramel", which was released in 1899, was later improved to suit the taste of Japanese people, and was released with the article "milk".
